Understanding the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act

For the first time organisations will have clear guidance and legal certainty on the respect for human rights. The German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (SCDDA) comes into force on 1 January 2023.

 

 

Due Diligence Obligations The Act lays out the obligations for an organisation under Section 3. These are:

Establishing a risk management system;

    • Designating a person responsible within the organisation;
    • Regular Risk Analysis;
    • Policy Reforms;
    • Implementing Preventive Measures;
    • Taking Remedial Actions;
    • Establishing a Complaint Procedure;
    • Documentation and Reporting.
